Villa O

Last Monday Andrew and I went to Villa O and i must say i was impressed! its organic italian food! finally! italian food that i dont feel TERRIBLE after eating! and every monday in uptown dallas they have a menu where you pick a starter and an entree. and the meal is ON THE HOUSE! yuppp! you dont pay for it! all you have to do is pay for the taxes and leave a REAL NICE tip! if the weather is nice you could eat on the patio. the food was amazing. for a starter i had the Insalata di sicliana. it was such a good salad with cappers, olives, mixed greens, cheese. it was fresh! and for the entree andrew had the Risotto di mare and i had the Pollo al marsala. both were so delicious! but the menu switches up every monday! i would definitely like to take my mom! haha.. she would love it. but you MUST make a reservation!

cheers!

TEXAS

where do i even begin? friends have asked me start up my blog again. i'm sure most already know how terrible i am at keeping in touch! so i guess for the few that read this will have an idea with what is going on in my life or lack there of!

i am finally back in the lone star state. and i'm not gonna lie.. moving out of my comfort zone in provo and back to texas was not easy for me. i lived in provo for 6 years! and moving back to texas was a huge culture shock. i sometimes feel so out of place!

thank goodness for my handful of high school friends. we've hot tub on rooftops in downtown. gone to a few shows. hit up the rio room and beauty bar for dancing. and gone to festivals on the weekends. but the best part about being home is being with my whole family. i've missed just sittin outside with my aunts and uncles. watchin them drink. and talk shit all night.

as for a job. i am still searchin!! i'm in no rush.. i help my parents out around the house and i help my dad with some of his work.. i just need to go back to school. get my degree. and travel the world!

other than that.. i am alive. and happy. but i do miss everyone in utah quite terribly. maybe for spring break i'll come hang out for a week!

yours truly.

...I disappear into the person I love. I am the permeable membrane. If I love you, you can have my everything. You can have my time, my devotion, my ass, my money, my family, my dog, my dog's money, my dog's time--everything. If I love you, I will carry for you all your pain, I will assume for you all your debts (in every definition of the word), I will protect you from your own insecurity, I will project upon you all sorts of good qualities that you have never actually cultivated in yourself and I will buy Christmas presents for your entire family. I will give you the sun and the rain, and if they are not available, I will give you a sun check and a rain check. I will give you all this and more, until I get so exhausted and depleted that the only way I can recover my energy is by becoming infatuated with someone else.

I have a history of making decisions very quickly about men. I have always fallen in love fast and without measuring risks. I have a tendency not only to see the best in everyone, but to assume that everyone is emotionally capable of reaching his highest potential. I have fallen in love more times than I care to count with the highest potential of a man, rather than with the man himself, and then I have hung on to the relationship for a long time (sometimes far too long) waiting for the man to ascend to his own greatness. Many times in romance I have been a victim of my own optimism.

eat. pray. love.

temple trips

so since i have been endowed. i have been going to the temple once a week. i was able to go to the provo temple with my friend rachael (who is also my VT companion) and did a session. the following week i went to the timpanogas temple with my friend mike and preston. and it's seriously heaven on earth. i love the temple so much and the blessings that come with it! i'm excited to go to the draper one this coming week!

a must-read

Oscar Wilde said: "Each man kills the thing he loves." And it's true. The mere possibility of getting what we want fills the soul of the ordinary person with guilt. We look around at all those who have failed to get what they want and feel that we do not deserve to get what we want either. We forget about all the obstacles we overcame, all the suffering we endured, all the things we had to give up in order to get this far. I have known a lot of people who, when their personal calling was within their grasp, went on to commit a series of stupid mistakes and never reached their goal- when it was only a step away. But if you believe yourself worthy of the thing you fought so hard to get, then you become an instrument of God, you help the Soul of the World, and you understand why you are here.

-Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist

Oh Happy Day.

"With any major decision there are cautions and considerations to make, but once there has been illumination, beware the temptation to retreat from a good thing. If it was right when you prayed about it and trusted it and lived for it, it is right now."

March 12, 2011 at 1:30 pm I walked into the Dallas Temple with my temple recommend. yup! you better believe it! I received my endowments! and must i say.. i loved every minute of it!
